April 2021: Americares is actively responding to the India COVID-19 surge with a $5 million commitment to supporting health workers and vulnerable communities. They are leveraging their long-standing experience, supply and distribution networks in India, where they have had local operations for 15 years. Americares is donating more than 600 oxygen concentrators to public hospitals across multiple states, exploring oxygen plant installation in six hospitals in the worst affected state of Maharashtra, providing 1 million units of PPE including N95 and 3-ply masks as well as sanitizers to 10 dedicated COVID-19 hospitals in Mumbai and Delhi. Americares India continues to support the communities who rely on Americares India’s longstanding Mobile Health Center and School Health programs.

April 2021: Direct Relief is actively responding to the India COVID-19 surge with a $5 million commitment to cover the expense of an estimated 10,000 oxygen concentrators and other requested medical supplies. Direct Relief is working with several local Indian nonprofits, global logistics companies and large-scale manufacturers to source and transport oxygen concentrators and other critical items into India. Since the pandemic began, Direct Relief has also provided twenty-one organizations across India with more than $25 million in medical resources, including PPE, cancer drugs, rare disease medications, and $198,000 in grants.

ACT's goal is to support deployment of 50,000+ oxygen concentrators across India.
ACT is a social change movement for the startup ecosystem in India, enabling changemakers to give their time, talent and resource to mobilize solutions that address societal problems at scale.
ACT started as a response to fight COVID-19 and has now expanded its mandate to cover healthcare, education, environment, and women’s participation in workforce.Visit the Site
In April 2021 to respond to the surge of COVID-19 infections, ACT's focus is to immediately tackle the shortage of oxygen supply on a war footing. It will also help solve for medical manpower and hospital beds, and expand efforts to support vaccination scale up.
