1,975+ Animals Identified in Kenya for Wildlife Conservation

We kicked off the year as a #forceforgood, hosting a public virtual volunteer event for wildlife conservation. Our internal volunteer events are available to our community – making workplace philanthropy easy, so anyone can make an impact alongside us. 

On January 31st, 63 of us joined forces to contribute to wildlife conservation efforts in Kenya. It was heartwarming to see so many people come together for such an important cause. 

During the event, we spent 1 hour poring over pictures from trail cameras set up in Kenya's conservation sites to identify the animals captured in those images. And identify them we did—over 1,975 animals in total! It was incredible to witness the dedication and enthusiasm of our volunteers throughout the process.

Our volunteers were not just participants; they were actively engaged in the Zoom chat, keeping the energy levels high and the atmosphere buzzing. Their commitment to the task at hand was truly inspiring.

The impact of our efforts was significant, amounting to a total of 63 hours volunteered and an in-kind value of $6,993. But beyond the numbers, our contributions are helping scientists gain a deeper understanding of Kenya's wildlife and their habitats. By working together, we made a real difference in conservation efforts.
